Welcome to the Matlaw Forum. In our forum you will find several rooms dedicated to the various topics associated with our website, our products, and most importantly, practicing Family Law in New York State.

In each forum 'room' you will see conversations - or related messages - that are all grouped together. These are called message threads and are all on a similar topic, or are issues related to a topic that has already been created.

The forum messages are arranged in reverse chronological order. The newest forum entries in any room are always listed first, making it easy to find new messages.

To read a message, click the message subject.

If you would like to 'add your two cents' to a conversation, or message thread, simply click 'Reply' after viewing the message.

You can also directly email the author of any message on the forum. Some communications are best kept off line...

When you reply to a forum message, the person who posted the article you are replying to will receive an email with your response, in addition to the response being posted in the forum. In the same manner, if someone replies to one of your forum messages, you will also receive an email.

If you are starting a new conversation, simply click the 'Post' link.  This will start a new message thread.

Searching: Simply click the 'Search this Room' link, once you are in one of our specialized forums. On the search page you can enter the word or words you want to search for. The search engine is vary powerful, and will return all matching forum messages, even if the words that are being searched for are in a different order than you entered in the search field.

The search engine relies on a special catalog for it's search results. This catalog, or index, is rebuilt every hour. If you are looking for an article that is very new - less than one hour old - you will not be able to find it with the search page. You will have to look for it directly in the Forum Message threads. The search also ignores words like ' the, and, if, a ' etcetera.
